I have set up CamPermanent to that it records a permanent recording on motion. It looks like everything is working fine and it's creating the files as I set up with date and time. I have quite a few files with the .m24 file extension. I have tried to change the recording settings to different types of video, but they always save with the .m24 extension. How can I view my recordings?

Also, when I try to use the Media Viewer part of the program, it just hangs and I have to restart the whole CamPermanent program. Is this viewer used to view the recordings? If so, is there something else I can use to view them?

CamPermanent comes with the CamPlayer which is used to view the .m24 (permanent) videos!
The CamPlayer is a separate pogram which is installed together with CamPermanent. You will find the icon on the desktop and the start menu!

With the CamPlayer you can view all permanent recorded videos and also convert them into .AVI if you like!
