Hi Marc,

I have recently started to use the remote desktop functionality of xp pro. I found that if I start up CamUniversal using remote desktop on another PC then I get the message 'warning cold not create directshow filtergraph etc etc.' This only occurrs for the USB cameras connected to the remote PC.

CamUniversal starts up correctly if I start it directly on the PC. If I leave it running and then open up a remote desktop to the PC then I can see CamUniversal running as normal!!!

Have you got an ideas how I can execute camuniversal via remote desktop?

Hi there!

just read your question and am glad to say that I got this working.
I've got a small pc (EEE Box) working for my 2 webcams and CamUni working on it.
The small PC is stored in a closet somewhere, so it won't get stolen when burgeled.
I access it hrough my WiFi network.

I use Real VNC for Remote Desktop, since the Windows version keeps giving me a hard time and not all control. And RealVNC also is multi-platform, so not just Windows.

There is a good woring Free Edition.
It is free to use (both the server set up at the computer you want to access and the client/viewer which you install on the computer you want to control it all with).

Installing was quite easy, but remember to open up the specific port in your router.

link: http://www.realvnc.com/
free edition: http://www.realvnc.com/products/free/4.1/index.html

Hope this will answer your question.

Kind regards,

Menno
