Marc,
I recall getting an email that the new version of CP was fixed for Gmail? I just tried again and it still does not connect. Was this fixed?

smtp.gmail.com
port: 465
SSL enabled

Just hangs at:
Test Email Sending!
Try to connect ...

I did test this in another application and it does work. Please advise.

Ross

Hi,

yes there is a fix! You could use GMAIL in the next version (CamPermanent 3.5, CamUniversal 4.5).
I have lifted up the used .NET Framework to version 4.0!
Microsoft has done some improvements in the meantime which where necessary to support GMAIL.

Hi,

no I haven't reverted anything.
And the used Framework is still 4.0.

Which was the last functional version?
And have you tried this version which the same email data?

For more information please start the program with the parameter -log to create the protocol file log.txt in the user folder.

I did get it to work today with GMAIL so this is simply a note for my future as well as anyone else on a USA ISP that may have certain ports blocked.

What worked was:

smtp.googlemail.com
SSL Enabled
Port 587

Plain Text

The problem I have with the system is the UI on the desktop. It's unworkable for the casual user like myself. With email, there are few actions you ever need to take. Compose a message, send the message, read an incoming message, reply to the message sender, reply to the sender and ALL others to whom the message was sent, forward a message, and delete a message.
