I was wondering. When I use the "Motion Detection" capture picture mode, I also capture additional images after motion is detected. However, it seems to only capture an image every 1 second. Is there a way to specify the rate at which it captures? ie. every 0.25 seconds, or whatever? I have added an additional camera, but it has a narrow field of view, so someone can be in and out of the camera's field of view in about a second or less.
Video capture starts too slowly (it takes about 1-2 seconds to initiate).

the interval for capturing these additional pictures is the interval in which the detector tests for motion.
There is no way other than to decrease this interval.
I guess you are using a webcam (live device direct connected to the PC) which is accessed via DirectShow compatible driver.
The program switches the device from preview mode into record mode and back.
Depending on the device and the driver it could be, that these switchings could last a bit.
