The sale pitch for CanUniversal says, "CamUniversal
Version 4.0 for Windows ™ (98/ME/2000/XP/Vista/7)
Release 15. April 2010

You can run an unlimited number of cameras with one instance of the program!
For each running instance you need an additional license.

This turns out not to be so. First, I found that only one instance of a particular webcam model, .i.e. Logitech C250 will run per computer. There's this thing called USB Bandwidth. I bought 7 varieties of webcams but that didn't help. Only for will show pictures because of "I assume" USB Bandwidth.

I bought 3 licenses of CamUniversal and a lot of gear to go with it for 3 security zones. I need to run at least 7 cameras in each zone. I've already spent a bunch of money based upon what was NOT disclosed.

I sure hope some one can point me to someplace to get information (with full disclosure) on how I can salvagage this nightmare. I did not decide to set up this system as a hobby. It's costing me money everyday I don't have it working.

Hello,

the number of cameras is not restricted from the program!

That is not true, it depends on the model and the used driver. I use 3 Logitech Quickcam Express parallel on 1 PC!

Yes this is a big problem. I have also problems running more than 3 webcams parallel. But this depends on your hardware and Windows itself and not on CamUniversal!

If you want to use several cameras parallel, it is always the better choice to use IP-cams ( network cameras ) instead of webcams!

I'm sorry about your problems. So tell me how I can give you further help!
