Post subject:  Codec Failure under Win XP

Hello Crazy guys,

I have tried nearly all (I think) the available video codecs on CamUniversal (Win XP sp3) and only the "mpeg compression" one does <not> cause CamUnivesal to immediately exit as soon as I say "OK" after setting the parameters (which I believe are quite reasonable). However, that codec gives unacceptably bad results, so I would not use it anyway. I am currently forced to use "no codec", which is a great nuisance since I have to post-process (3rd party software) all the files for an acceptable storage occupancy, and this takes a very long time! Do you have any suggestions for any way of using a half-decent codec with CamUniversal? {I am not using any audio feed or audio codec}.

Thanks very much. 8)

Hello Grahame,

it sounds not good, that CamUniversal quits after selecting a new codec.
In general, if a codec is not running within the created CamUniversal DirectShow filter graph, a warning is displayed, but no quit!

I don't know why this is happen on your system and why only 1 codec works!

Have you installed the standard codec packs on your system and tried them out? ... c_pack.htm
